The short answer

Webshare wins on cheap shared datacenter proxies (100 for $2.99 a month, plus a free plan of 10) and on low-cost static residential IPs from $0.30 each a month. For rotating residential traffic Loopway costs less, at every volume from 1 GB to 3 TB: $1.10/GB at 10 GB against Webshare's $2.75/GB plan and $0.57/GB at 1 TB against $1.50/GB, pay as you go with a free residential trial, where Webshare sells monthly subscriptions and its free plan covers datacenter proxies only.

What you'll actually pay

What residential traffic costs on each

The same four orders priced on both. Webshare figures come from its own price list; ours from the rates checkout charges.

10 GB of residential trafficLoopway$10.98[1]$1.10/GB · pay as you goWebshare$27.50[2]$2.75/GB · 10 GB plan (monthly)
100 GB of residential trafficLoopway$91.14[1]$0.91/GB · pay as you goWebshare$225.00[2]$2.25/GB · 100 GB plan (monthly)
500 GB of residential trafficLoopway$344.33[1]$0.69/GB · pay as you goWebshare$875.00[2]$1.75/GB · 500 GB plan (monthly)
1 TB of residential trafficLoopway$567.83[1]$0.57/GB · pay as you goWebshare$1,500[2]$1.50/GB · 1,000 GB plan (monthly)

Each figure is the cheapest way to buy that much from the provider's own published price list: when a plan's minimum is larger than what you need, you pay for the whole plan, and a bigger plan wins whenever its lower rate makes up for it. Taxes excluded. The lowest cost in each row is blue.

Which one fits

An honest verdict

Choose Webshare if…

5
  • You need lots of cheap datacenter IPs for light jobs: Webshare's shared proxies start at 100 for $2.99 a month.
  • You want a free proxy list that never expires: its free plan gives 10 shared datacenter proxies with 1 GB a month, no card.
  • You need static residential (ISP) IPs on a budget: from $0.30 per proxy a month, well under our static ISP at $2.28/IP for 10 IPs.
  • You prefer a fixed monthly bill and pay by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay.
  • You want a provider owned by Oxylabs, with a REST API and a Chrome extension.

Choose Loopway if…

5
  • Rotating residential is your main cost: $1.10/GB at 10 GB and $0.57/GB at 1 TB, against Webshare's $2.75 and $1.50/GB monthly plans.
  • You want to test residential before paying: we give free residential traffic with no card, while Webshare's free plan is datacenter only.
  • You'd rather top up than subscribe: our balance is pay as you go and never expires.
  • You need mobile, IPv6 or unlimited-bandwidth proxies, or UDP on residential, none of which Webshare lists.
  • You want to pay with crypto, which Webshare doesn't accept.
Switching

Moving from Webshare takes an afternoon

  1. 1

    Test on your own targets

Create an account and use the free residential traffic on the sites you actually scrape or run — no card needed.

  2. 2

    Swap the gateway

Replace host, port and credentials in your tool. Country, city and session settings go in the username string, so most code doesn't change.

  3. 3

    Move volume over

Top up a balance that never expires and shift traffic job by job. The per-GB rate drops automatically as your volume grows.

For rotating residential, yes, at every volume from 1 GB to 3 TB: $1.10/GB at 10 GB against Webshare's $2.75/GB, and $0.57/GB at 1 TB against $1.50/GB. For shared datacenter proxies and static residential (ISP) IPs, Webshare is the cheaper option: from $2.99 a month for 100 datacenter proxies and $0.30 per static residential proxy.

Webshare says it has no trial period. Instead it offers a permanent free plan of 10 shared datacenter proxies with up to 1 GB a month and no credit card. It doesn't cover rotating residential, which starts at $3.50 a month for 1 GB as of October 2026. Loopway gives free residential traffic with no card.

Oxylabs. It announced the acquisition of Webshare Software in September 2022 and said Webshare would keep operating as an independent entity.

Only within 48 hours of purchase, and only if you've used under 0.1 GB on a rotating residential plan (under 1 GB on datacenter or static residential plans) and fewer than 1,000 proxies. Account credits aren't refundable.

Not by default. Webshare may ask for ID through Stripe Identity to confirm a payment method or when you send high request volumes to rate-limited sites, and some residential targets are unblocked only after KYC. Loopway asks for verification only when a risk check calls for it.

Create an account, claim the free trial and swap the gateway host, port and credentials in your tool. Country, city and session settings go in the username string. If you also use Webshare's cheap shared datacenter list, you can keep it for light jobs and move residential traffic over.
