The short answer

SOAX publishes its whole rate card, covers residential and mobile with one credit balance and gets very cheap at enterprise volume in its lower-cost countries ($0.25–0.35/GB in tier 3). For US traffic it costs $5/GB pay as you go or $3/GB on a $200/mo plan, with credits that expire after 60 days and KYC before any purchase; Loopway is $1.10/GB at 10 GB and $0.57/GB at 1 TB, cheaper at every volume up to 20 TB on US residential, with no expiry and a free trial.

What you'll actually pay

What residential traffic costs on each

The same four orders priced on both. SOAX figures come from its own price list; ours from the rates checkout charges.

10 GB of residential trafficLoopway$10.98[1]$1.10/GB · pay as you goSOAX$50.00[2]$5.00/GB · Sandbox top-up
100 GB of residential trafficLoopway$91.14[1]$0.91/GB · pay as you goSOAX$300.00[2]$3.00/GB · Builder $200 (monthly)
500 GB of residential trafficLoopway$344.33[1]$0.69/GB · pay as you goSOAX$1,100[2]$2.20/GB · Team $500 (monthly)
1 TB of residential trafficLoopway$567.83[1]$0.57/GB · pay as you goSOAX$1,500[2]$1.50/GB · Scale $1,500 (monthly)

Each figure is the cheapest way to buy that much from the provider's own published price list: when a plan's minimum is larger than what you need, you pay for the whole plan, and a bigger plan wins whenever its lower rate makes up for it. Taxes excluded. The lowest cost in each row is blue.

About SOAX

SOAX, on the record

Facts from their own site and policies — no review-site hearsay. Each one is linked to its source.

What SOAX does well

5
  • The full self-service rate card is public, including Enterprise volume bands down to $0.50/GB in tier 1 and $0.25/GB in tier 3 countries.[2]
  • One per-GB rate and one credit balance cover both residential and mobile traffic.[2]
  • Country, region, city and ISP targeting are included on every plan, including the free Sandbox.[2]
  • Residential proxies work over HTTP(S), SOCKS5 and UDP/QUIC, from a stated pool of 155M+ IPs.[6]
  • Its published SLA states 99.9% uptime.[19]

Where SOAX is limited

6
  • Only residential and mobile proxies are sold: the ISP and datacenter product pages return 404 (checked October 9, 2026).[9]
  • Identity or business verification (KYC/KYB) must be completed before any purchase.[12]
  • Credits bought on Sandbox or a monthly plan expire 60 days after they are added.[2]
  • Plan fees, top-up credits and overage are generally non-refundable, and unused plan time isn't refunded on cancellation.[2]
  • ASN and ZIP targeting are only on the Scale plan ($1,500/mo) and Enterprise.[2]
  • Traffic is counted in both directions, including retries and interrupted connections, and prices exclude VAT.[2]
Which one fits

An honest verdict

Choose SOAX if…

4
  • Most of your traffic exits in SOAX's tier 3 countries at enterprise volume, where its published rate falls to $0.25–0.35/GB.
  • You want residential and mobile traffic billed at one rate from one shared credit balance.
  • You want a managed scraping service where SOAX builds and runs the data pipeline for you.
  • You need a published 99.9% uptime SLA or a dedicated customer success manager on an Enterprise plan.

Choose Loopway if…

6
  • You buy US residential traffic: we're $1.10/GB at 10 GB against SOAX's $5/GB Sandbox rate, and $0.57/GB at 1 TB against $1.50 on its $1,500/mo Scale plan.
  • You don't want traffic to expire: our balance never does, where SOAX credits expire 60 days after purchase.
  • You need ASN targeting without a $1,500/mo plan: carrier ASN targeting is included in our per-GB mobile rate.
  • You need static ISP, datacenter, IPv6 or unlimited-bandwidth proxies, which SOAX no longer sells.
  • You want to start without identity checks: we verify only when a risk check asks, while SOAX requires KYC before any purchase.
  • You want a free trial before you pay.
Switching

Moving from SOAX takes an afternoon

  1. 1

    Test on your own targets

Create an account and use the free residential traffic on the sites you actually scrape or run — no card needed.

  2. 2

    Swap the gateway

Replace host, port and credentials in your tool. Country, city and session settings go in the username string, so most code doesn't change.

  3. 3

    Move volume over

Top up a balance that never expires and shift traffic job by job. The per-GB rate drops automatically as your volume grows.

FAQ

SOAX alternative: questions

For US residential traffic, yes at every volume up to 20 TB. SOAX charges $5/GB on its pay-as-you-go Sandbox plan, $3/GB on Builder ($200/mo) and $1.50/GB on Scale ($1,500/mo) for US exit IPs, as of October 2026. Loopway is $1.10/GB at 10 GB and $0.57/GB at 1 TB with no plan. SOAX is cheaper in its tier 3 countries at Enterprise volume, where rates go down to $0.25/GB.

SOAX's pricing FAQ says it has no free trial and points to the free Sandbox plan, which includes no credits. Its residential proxy page still advertises a three-day, 400 MB trial for $1.99; we couldn't confirm that it can still be bought. Loopway gives free residential traffic with no card required.

Yes. Credits added on Sandbox or a monthly plan expire 60 days after they are added; credits on an annual plan last 12 months. Loopway balances never expire.

Yes. Its KYC/KYB policy requires identity or business verification before any purchase or paid service activation, and crypto payment is only available after KYC. Loopway asks for verification only when a risk check calls for it.

Generally not: plan fees, top-up credits and overage are non-refundable, with exceptions at SOAX's discretion or where consumer law requires, and unused plan time isn't refunded on cancellation.

Not on its current site: SOAX lists only residential and mobile proxies, and its ISP and datacenter product pages return 404 (checked October 2026). Loopway sells static ISP, datacenter, IPv6 and unlimited proxies alongside residential and mobile.

Create an account, claim the free trial and swap the gateway host, port and credentials in your tool. Country, city and session settings go in the username string, so most scrapers need only a config change. Use up any SOAX credits first, since they expire 60 days after purchase.
