The short answer

Decodo (formerly Smartproxy) is the bigger operation: a 115M+ IP residential pool, ZIP and ASN targeting, scraping APIs and a stated ISO 27001 certification. It is also the more expensive one for residential traffic — $3.50/GB at 10 GB on a monthly plan and $2.00/GB at 1 TB, against our $1.10/GB and $0.57/GB pay as you go — and Loopway adds a larger no-card trial, UDP, IPv6 and unlimited proxies.

What you'll actually pay

What residential traffic costs on each

The same four orders priced on both. Decodo figures come from its own price list; ours from the rates checkout charges.

10 GB of residential trafficLoopway$10.98[1]$1.10/GB · pay as you goDecodo$35.00[2]$3.50/GB · 10 GB plan (monthly)

Each figure is the cheapest way to buy that much from the provider's own published price list: when a plan's minimum is larger than what you need, you pay for the whole plan, and a bigger plan wins whenever its lower rate makes up for it. Taxes excluded. The lowest cost in each row is blue.

Which one fits

An honest verdict

Choose Decodo if…

5
  • You need scraping APIs (Web, SERP, eCommerce or social media) on the same account as your proxies — Loopway sells proxies only.
  • You want the largest stated residential pool of the two (115M+ IPs) or ZIP-code targeting.
  • Your procurement asks for ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification, which Decodo states it holds.
  • You want to pay with PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay or Alipay.
  • You need cheap shared ISP IPs: Decodo lists them from $0.27/IP per month at volume.

Choose Loopway if…

4
  • You want lower residential prices without a subscription: $1.10/GB at 10 GB against Decodo's $3.50/GB on a monthly plan.
  • You run high volumes: $0.57/GB at 1 TB pay as you go, against $2.00/GB on Decodo's $2,000/month Enterprise plan.
  • You want a real test first: up to 1.75 GB of free residential traffic with no card, against Decodo's 100 MB, 3-day trial that rolls into a plan.
  • You need UDP, IPv6 proxies or an unlimited-bandwidth residential plan, none of which Decodo lists.

Yes. Decodo is Smartproxy's new name: its About page describes Decodo as "formerly known as Smartproxy", in business since 2018, and Proxyway reported the rebrand in April 2025. The prices on this page are from decodo.com, checked October 2026.

For residential proxies, yes, from the first gigabyte. As of October 2026 Decodo costs $3.50/GB at 10 GB (its 10 GB monthly plan) and $2.00/GB at 1 TB (Enterprise); Loopway is $1.10/GB and $0.57/GB, pay as you go with no plan to renew. Both include city targeting.

Yes, a 3-day trial with 100 MB of traffic for new users on most proxy types; dedicated ISP and dedicated datacenter proxies are excluded, and the plan activates after the trial. Loopway gives up to 1.75 GB of residential traffic free, with no card.

Within 14 days of a first self-service purchase per service, if you've used no more than 20% of the plan's traffic or 1 GB, whichever comes first. Crypto payments, plans started from a free trial and Enterprise plans are excluded.

Decodo runs an automated check at registration and asks for ID verification through a third-party tool if suspicious activity is detected. Loopway asks for KYC only when a risk check calls for it.

Decodo sells scraping APIs (Web, eCommerce, SERP and social media) and a Site Unblocker; Loopway sells no scraping APIs. Loopway sells IPv6 proxies, UDP on residential and unlimited-bandwidth residential plans, which Decodo doesn't list.

Create an account, claim the free trial and swap the gateway host, port and credentials in your tool. Country, city and session settings go in the username string the same way, so most scrapers and bots need no code changes.
