# How we rotate millions of IPs without getting our customers blocked

Rotation isn't 'pick a random IP per request'. A look at sticky sessions, health checks and the back-pressure that keeps a pool clean.

Naive rotation — a fresh random IP on every request — is the fastest way to get a pool blacklisted. Targets notice when a 'user' teleports across continents mid-session. Good rotation is about restraint: changing identity only when it helps, and never when it hurts.

## Sticky sessions are the default, not the exception

Most real workflows — logging in, paginating, checking out — need the same exit IP for a span of minutes. We bind a session token to an exit node and keep it alive until you release it or it fails a health check.

## Health checks and back-pressure

- Every exit node is probed continuously; nodes that fail are quarantined, not handed out.
- Per-target error rates feed back into selection, so a node that a specific site has flagged stops being offered for that site.
- Concurrency limits per node prevent any single IP from looking like a bot farm.

The result is that 'rotation' is really continuous, target-aware pool curation. The customer just sees clean IPs.
